Notes regarding the situation of our partners

MAC Precision has struggled as have we all through the pandemic. It now appears there is some light approaching with the rollout of various vaccines. We would like to take a moment to highlight some positive news that has occurred during 2020 from one of our companies, namely TDG Clamping Solutions.

Despite the pandemic TDG realized an 18% growth in 2020.
This growth is the result of strategic planning over the last two years, part of which has been the development of new production planning and management systems.

TDG has worked in collaboration with consultants, Improven and Sisteplant. This research and development made it possible to dramatically raise billing levels as well as improve “on-time delivery” and “Work in progress”.

To achieve these objectives the centennial company has been structured to reinforce key positions in the organization and management betting on a Lean Manufacturing model, which even now, in times of crisis, is paying off.

Equally important to achieve this objective has been the development of new technological solutions, such as pallet exchangers. This new product, developed during 2019, has allowed TDG to obtain projects to which it previously did not have access.

TDG grows in innovation The Biscayan company obtained development aid for a strategic action to industrialize of a state of the art sensored clamping solution.

TDG is working on an R + D + i project together with Tecnalia and Ideko in the design, development, and industrialization of a next-generation Smart Chuck. This Hazitek program is part of the 2019-2021 strategic plan by which the centennial company is committed to a new model of innovation and technological development to continue being a world reference in the manufacture of large-scale customized chuck solutions.

The project has a deadline of December 2021 and will result in a marketable sensored chuck containing a new ultra-small functional electronic system.

This Smart Chuck joins the self-centering magnetic chuck (for which TDG was already nominated for the Quality awards of this year 2020) and for the new large-dimension palletizing solutions within the new high-value-added products.
